The fact is: every time you set foot in your car, your mat experiences a little more wear and tear, and the place where your heel rests while you drive gets the worst of it. A car mat with holes is not protecting your car's interior, nor is it preserving the value of your car. What good is a floor mat that doesn't do its job?
Does anyone else have a problem with their floor mats in the car getting holes from your high heels? I wear heels every day and I've gone through 2 floor mats in less than a year ... not the cheap ones? What am I doing wrong?
Because I wasn't raised by animals, I know that you don't wear shoes in the house. Shoes stay by the door near the outside world, where they belong. (I'll accept clean inside shoes or slippers, but that's it.) So, why are we still wearing shoes on the carpeted interiors of our cars? Either we lose the shoes or we lose the carpeting, and seeing as neither of those options is terribly likely, here's my third proposal: Put down some rubber floor mats if you don't have them already. They'll change your life.
I personally did away with the problem three years ago by making the switch from carpeted floor mats to rubber ones. They're easy to clean and they're weatherproof. No longer do I feel guilty about resting my rain-soaked boots on the carpet or worrying about where to put my restaurant leftovers out of fear of a spill. When I wash my car, I either take the mats out and give them a good shake or hose them down with some soap and water. It's far less of a hassle this way.
Before you SUV and pickup owners rush into the comments and yell about how your vehicles have used rubber mats for years, know this blog isn't for you. It's for people still driving cars with carpeted floor mats, people who were sold the lie that this is the superior way. It is very much not. By all means, keep the carpeted floors and transmission tunnels! That stuff helps with NVH and sound deadening. But as soon as you can, swap out those carpet mats for rubber ones. Your future self will thank you.

Since the fluid channels catch everything, WeatherTech mats are easier to clean. Just pull them out and dump them. If you want to give your floor liners some shine, WeatherTech sells a biodegradable kit with a bottle of cleaner and a bottle of protectant. This will also keep the WeatherTech liners smelling nice, which can be a challenge with a standard cloth mat.
I had damage to one of the floor mats from my truck, just need one but custermer service refused to sell me one as it is against company policy so I implemented my own company policy to never buy products from this comapny again. now I have mats from another manufacture and I am happier than I would have been if I had bought 2 mats to replace just 1.
On a secondary note, in the past when they send you products, sometimes the bend them to fit in the box, well on the lasered floor mats, be prepared to be putting in some work to make them lay flat again, I think mine took 9 monthes to finally lay flat all the way
I ordered floor liners for my 2019 Tacoma Truck. Well, weather tech shipped the wrong mats . Trying to get a hold of them is next to impossible. I have been on hold over 1 hr two separate times and still never was able to talk with a customer service person. This company has a great product but only if they ship the right product.
Just received my weather tech floor mats for a 2019 sierra SLT. Was not impressed at all with the container in which the mats arrived in. The card board box was big enough for a washing machine. The mats were thrown in like they did not care how they arrived. My 4 year old grandson could have done a better packing job. The fitment in the back seat area was mediocre at best. The front fit decent but I will never pay $243.00 (shipping/handling included) again for flimsy mats. No I will not return, its just too much trouble. I will just never purchase again.
You probably don't think about your car's floor mats all that often, aside from the occasional vacuuming. But picking up a fresh set of rubber floor mats can bring some huge benefits, especially if you live in a wet or snowy area.
Rubber floor mats might take a bit of getting used to if you're accustomed to your mats matching the carpet in your car, but they're easier to clean and can also, believe it or not, increase the value of your car over time.
If you spill coffee or track mud into your car, it's easy to just pop rubber mats out and hose them down with water. That makes rubber floor mats perfect for drivers in wet climates, and those who haul around dogs or small children.
If you live in a weather-prone area that gets a lot of rain or snow, having the wrong floor mats can potentially cause serious damage to your car. Standard floor mats allow moisture to penetrate all the way through your carpeting and down to your floor pans, which can lead to rusting over time.
Normal fabric floor mats tend to degrade over time, appearing worse and worse as they see more dust, mud, dirt, foot traffic, and moisture. Since rubber mats are more durable and easier to clean, they may keep your interior looking clean and tidy for longer.
Overall, garage floor mats are super diverse, with each kind serving a unique set of needs. If you live somewhere that sees all four seasons, you might need more than one type of garage floor mat to tackle various weather conditions.
Your environment also plays a part in determining your purchase. Extreme summer heat, for instance, calls for heat-resistant mats, as regular rubber ones might start to melt, leaving residue on the garage floor that can be even tougher to clean than grease stains.
A: Containment mats can prevent mud, water, snow, lubricants, and grease from coming into contact with the floor, which could otherwise potentially leave permanent marks. By containing all water inside, containment garage floor mats also make your garage safer to walk around in by helping to prevent slippery wet floors.
This set includes front and rear floor mats which feature hook-and-loop fastener patches, a locking system to keep the mats in place, a 10mm sidewall, and the thermoplastic elastomer material is 100% recyclable and free of cadmium, lead, latex and PVC.
Just like they withstand heavy salts and soils, rubber floor mats also stand up to heavy duty cleaning solutions, so go ahead and pull out the heavy hitters to make your job easier. They are rubber after all, so you can safely use a tire and wheel cleaner or a highly concentrated car wash soap. We recommend All Wheel & Tire Cleaner or M.A.X. Power Car Wash. The high alkalinity in cleaners like these, paired with a good wheel brush, will make short work of oils, greasy stains, salt buildup, mud and more.
Pro Tip: After applying protectant, always check the safety of your floor mats. Simply return each mat to the floorboard, sit in the car and place your feet on the mat. Try to slide your feet back and forth. If your shoes slide over the rubber, wipe the mats again with a microfiber towel to remove any residual slickness. Your mats are safe when you feel your shoes gripping, not sliding, on the rubber.
Certain companies make all-weather floor mats from materials other than rubber. Typically, they are harder, less flexible and require a different care process. Some are even cut to fit each car model. To clean these harder mats, just follow a few simple instructions:
If this is your first time trying to clean your floor mats, or you are facing a particularly stubborn stain, you may want to try a variety of tools. Try several different types of brushes and sponges in order to draw out the stain or dirt. Be careful not to mix cleaning products unless you are completely sure that they are chemically compatible.
Stubborn stains may need to be treated overnight or for a few hours. Chances are some of the stains on your floor mats have been there for several months, and it will take more than a couple of minutes to dissolve the stain. Soak the entire floor mat in cold water to help break free and help dissolve some of the ground in dirt and grime.
Car mats are designed to provide an extra layer of protection for the factory interior carpet. They are either offered by the factory as a standard inclusion or can be purchased from dealerships as an accessory. You can also purchase a lot of these floor mats for cars online from aftermarket manufacturers.
If the first method listed above is simply not enough, you might have to get a bit creative. There are several good products available for removing stains in cloth floor mats, and a simple Google search can help you with this.
I like less noise and no logo! That said, I think they make cheap accessories. Might not be an issue with floor mats but I have not tried them to confirm. If someone here has let me know what you think!
